Welcome to Our Family's Permaculture Adventure

At our permaculture farm near Ter Apel ( EMMEN ), life revolves around the joy of self-sufficiency.

As a family of five children, we thrive on the rich connections we create with nature, our animals, and each other.

Our property is home to a vibrant vegetable garden and a flourishing food forest, both of which help us cultivate our own food and live sustainably.

From the moment the sun kisses the fields in the morning, a day filled with activities awaits.

Daily Life on the Farm: A Collaborative Effort

Each morning starts slowly - a cherished ritual where we gather to discuss the day's plans.

This family meeting sets the tone for what’s to come. Whether it’s building, painting, or even chopping wood, we ensure our tasks are both productive and enjoyable.

The afternoons are reserved for collaborative efforts; we often find ourselves working together in the garden, milking our cows, or nurturing our vegetable garden.

These moments strengthen our bond and enhance our shared commitment to sustainable living.

Welcoming volunteer to Our Sustainable Haven

We are excited to share our experience with volunteers who are eager to lend a hand, learn, or simply enjoy our way of life.

Helping out on our farm means diving into a range of tasks, like gardening, cheese-making, tree moving, cooking, and animal care.

It’s a fulfilling experience where everyone from our kids to our visiting helpers becomes part of a larger family.

Beyond the work, we share evenings filled with music, radio DJing, dancing, and even local concerts, embracing a lifestyle rich in culture and community.

Our home also features unique elements like a sweat lodge and sauna, promoting relaxation and connection with nature.

We value spirituality and practicality in equal measure, practicing herbal medicine and honing our survival skills, offering our children a meaningful education outside traditional methods.

Each day is a new opportunity to learn something fascinating about the land and ourselves.

Join Us in Our Sustainable Journey!

If you're intrigued by the idea of living closer to the earth and contributing to our family’s permaculture farm, we invite you to consider a visit.

It’s not just about work; it's about creating memories, learning, and fostering a connection with nature.

Together, let’s cultivate not only a robust garden and vibrant food forest, but also a deeper understanding of sustainable living and holistic practices.

Our adventure is just beginning, and we can’t wait to share it with those ready for a fulfilling experience on our permaculture farm !

Permaculture farm focused on self-sufficiency with a vegetable garden and food forest in Nieuw Weerdinge. We are a family with 5 kids. On our land live cats, cows, chickens, and bees.

WWOOFers can help with building, painting, carpentry, chopping wood, gardening, milking, cheese-making, tree moving, harvesting, cooking, weeding, and animal care.

Days start slowly with a morning talk about activities. Tasks are done individually or together in the afternoon.

We enjoy music, radio DJing, dancing, concerts, nature, spirituality, Germanic & Celtic culture, homeschooling, and have a sweat lodge and sauna. We live with the land and practice herbal medicine and survival skills.
